Sliding Scale:

Income equity is a core value in my practice - therefore I set my fees according to a sliding scale based on annual income.

This sliding scale structure assists me to offer free and low-fee spots to folks most impacted by intersections of marginalisation, oppression and financial hardship. In choosing to participate, we collectively honour shared values of solidarity, sustainability and community care.

Please see the Sliding Scale table below to check which rate matches your income.

Cancellation Fees

0 - 24 hours’ notice: full fee
24 - 48 hours’ notice: 50% of fee
48 - 72 hours’ notice: 25% of fee

SERVICE options:

1) Medicare: As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, clients can access rebates for my services through Medicare. Please see the section titled ‘Accessing Medicare Rebates’ below for more information (please note: Medicare does not cover relationship counselling).

2) PSS: PSS (Psychological Support Services) is a local health network program for people who live/work/study in the Central and Eastern Sydney area, through which folks who meet eligibility criteria can access to up to 18 free therapy sessions a year (which means you don't have to pay out of pocket for any fees, unlike the Medicare MHCP).  I am a PSS provider through the Lilly Pilly Counselling Consortium. Please see the Central and Eastern Sydney PHN website for more information about referring to this service, and eligibility criteria, if you are interested in seeing me through this program.

3) Private: Anyone is welcome to access services privately, ie. not attached to a Medicare MHCP or other program.

From September 1, 2023 Magkasama will move to an autopayment system. Alternative payment options are available for clients on a case by case basis. Click here for more information on our autopay set up and how it may affect you.

STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS TO Access Medicare Rebates :

If you wish to access Medicare rebates, here are the steps:

1) Make an appointment with your GP.

2) At your appointment, you and your GP complete a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

3) Your GP will issue a referral letter addressed to me, with a copy of the MHCP plan attached. Either you or your GP need to email this to me directly, prior to our appointment.

3) I invoice you through the PowerDiary practice management system, according to how your income fits on my sliding scale. You can claim rebates back from Medicare using the receipt issued after payment.  Please note: if you come with a Medicare plan, it is your responsibility to pay me in full first the day at least 24 hours before our session, and then lodge the Medicare claim for your rebate independently, unless otherwise agreed.

4) You can return to your GP for a review of your MHCP after the 6th session, in order to unlock the next block of 4 rebated sessions.
